Instructions

Here are the steps to configure Outlook 2007 :

  1. Launch Outlook 2007.
  2. From the main window, click on Tools > Account Settings...

  3. Click New... to add new account in Outlook.

  4. Tick Manually configure server settings or additional server types option, then click Next >.

  5. Choose Internet E-mail, then click Next >.

  6. You will be prompted to enter your Internet E-mail settings such as incoming server, outgoing server, account type and authentication settings (All input on this article is only example).

    The configuration will be split into two different settings, POP3 and IMAP. Follow below steps for POP3 settings :

    • Choose POP3 as the Account Type, then click More Settings ....

    • Go to Outgoing Server tab, then enable My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. Choose Use same settings as my incoming mail server.

    • Go to Advanced tab, please check Incoming server and Outgoing server (you can also set port 587 as an alternative outgoing port ). Then click OK to apply the settings.

    • In Internet E-mail Settings window, click Test Account Settings ... to verify the configuration.

  7. To setup an IMAP account, please follow below steps :

    • Choose IMAP as the Account Type, then click More Settings ....

    • Go to Outgoing Server tab, then enable My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. Choose Use same settings as my incoming mail server

    • Go to Advanced tab, please check Incoming server and Outgoing server (you can also set port 587 as an alternative outgoing port ). Then click OK to apply the settings.

    • In Internet E-mail Settings window, click Test Account Settings ... to verify the configuration.

  8. Click Next > in the Internet E-mail Settings window to complete the settings.
