Instructions

Here are the steps to configure Outlook XP :

1.    Launch Outlook XP.


2.    From the main window, click on Tools >> E-Mail Accounts Select Add a new e-mail account and click Next.


3.    Select POP3 (Choose IMAP if you want to connect to the server using IMAP service) and then click Next to continue.


4.    Your Name: Enter your name as you will want it to appear in your e-mails.


E-mail Address: This is your e-mail address. E.g. "someone@yourdomain.com"


Incoming Mail Server: For the name of the Incoming Mail server, it will depend on your domain name. If you have a domain called "yourdomain.com", then you should configure it as "mail.yourdomain.com".


Outgoing Mail Server: Similar to Incoming Mail server, it will depend on your domain name. If you have a domain called "yourdomain.com", then you should configure it as "smtp.yourdomain.com".


Username: This is the same as your e-mail address E.g. "someone@yourdomain.com"

Password: This is the password to retrieve your e-mails.


The username and password are both case sensitive so make sure it is entered all lowercase.


DO NOT CHECK Log on Using Secure Password Authentication.


Click Next.


5.    Click on "Finish" and your E-mail account is complete.


Check/Change Settings :


1.    You get to the settings screen in Outlook XP (2002) by going to the Tools menu and then selecting E-mail Accounts. Then just follow the screens below. After opening email accounts you will see a selection screen like below. Select View or change existing e-mail accounts and click Next.


2.    Select the account you wish to check or modify and then click on the Change...button.


3.    Your Name: Your regular name


E-mail Address: The email address you set up, eg. email@yourdomain.com


Incoming mail servers: mail.yourdomain.com


Outgoing Mail Server: You may use your existing smtp outgoing server provided by your ISP, or if you prefer, configure it to "smtp.yourdomain.com" where yourdomain.com have to replaced with your real domain name.


Username: This is the same as your email address. If your email address is "email@yourdomain.com", then your username is also: "email@yourdomain.com".

Password: This is the password you have created for yourself in Plesk when you first set up your email account.


The username and password are both case sensitive so make sure it is entered all lowercase.


Click Next.



4.    You will then go back to the account screen and you can then just click on Finish to exit and save your settings.
